My name is Joanna, I am a mother of three amazing children, Jacob aged 12, and twins Ayden and Annalyn whom are 7. I’ve had a passion for photography for many years. It wasn’t until my son Jacob was born on January 25th, 2008 that I really started thinking about pursuing the passion I’ve always had for photography. When my first precious bundle of joy arrived I didn’t want to miss a moment or a memory of his life. He is our miracle baby that took us over two years to conceive. The first year of motherhood can be tough, causing you to have to put your passions aside momentarily. By January 2009, things became easier as a mother, and my son was this happy, energetic, soon-to-be toddler. On his first birthday, I tried to capture this treasured celebration with my basic point-and-shoot Olympus camera. After reviewing the photos, I was very disappointed in them (blurry, missed shots, etc.). At this point, I told myself I was ready to pursue my dream. I didn’t want to miss another beautiful occasion such as this. I was on a mission…and it would conclude with the creation of Joanna Lynn Photography.
I started by selling odds and ends to save up for my first DSLR camera. After 5 months of saving and researching the pros and cons of each camera out there, I was ready to make my first purchase. My first camera was my precious Nikon D90. After much research and studying photography, I started to jump right into doing free shoots for people for over a year to get the experience I needed. I have amazed myself over time, at how my photography has grown, and how much I’ve learned. I feel I have this natural ability to take in the beauty of photography, listen, analyze, and then put into action great works of art. When I upgraded to my full-frame Nikon D700 four years ago, it’s really allowed me so much more creativity and lighting techniques. It’s been seven years since I started this journey and I love it even more now than I did when I started. I strive to offer quality images at an affordable price, as I remember when I couldn’t afford all the beautiful photography out there when I wanted to so badly. I will always keep my prices low without skimping on quality. I truly love what I do, and the reaction I get from my clients when they see their pictures is truly priceless. I hope I am blessed to have the opportunity to capture you and your family’s precious moments in life. Please have a look around my site, and again, thank you for visiting Joanna Lynn Photography.
